NEW JERSEY – Congressman Rob Menendez has been endorsed for re-election by the New Jersey Education Association and the National Education Association, the largest unions of teachers and education support staff in the state and country.
“NJEA is proud to stand behind NEA’s endorsement of Rep. Menendez,” said NJEA President Steve Beatty. “He is a strong advocate for public education and a champion for the rights of unions and all working people. He also stands with families in his district – including immigrant families – against the destructive policies and dangerous rhetoric coming from the Trump administration. He’s a leader and ally who we need in Congress standing up for New Jersey and for our democracy.”
“Congressman Menendez has always supported organized labor and workers’ rights,” said Hudson County Education Association President Marquisha Reynolds. “Whether it is bringing back federal funding to benefit our schools, protecting educators against political attacks, or fighting with us for better conditions and fair wages, Congressman Menendez has always been in our corner. The Hudson County Education Association is proud to stand with him, as he always stood with us.”
“There is no better fighter for us in the Eighth Congressional District than Congressman Rob Menendez,” said Essex County Education Association President Christine Candarella. “Congressman Menendez has always fought for teachers, education support professionals, and the children that we care so deeply about. He has been there for us on every issue that matters – from protecting our right to organize to fighting the extreme rhetoric that has come out of the Trump Administration against our profession. We are proud to support Congressman Menendez for re-election.”
“Congressman Rob Menendez represents the kind of leadership Union County educators deserve—principled, present, and unafraid,” said Union County Education Association President James Frazier Jr. “At a time when the Trump White House threatens public education, workers’ rights, and our shared values, we need a Congressman who will stand shoulder to shoulder with the members of the Union County Education Association, defend our schools, protect our immigrant families and fight for dignity and fairness for every educator and student. Rob Menendez has shown he is willing to stand up, speak out, and put our community first.”
“Since being elected to Congress, I have fought to protect our NJEA members who work tirelessly to support our families, despite the challenges of being an educator in today’s political environment,” said Congressman Rob Menendez. “As the son and grandson of NJEA members, I know the deep impact that teachers and education support professionals can make in someone’s life. NJEA members uplift our future generations every single day, and they deserve someone who will have their backs in Congress. I will always stand with our educators and support the critical work that they do.”
The NJEA represents 200,000 teachers and education support professionals across New Jersey, while the NEA, the largest labor union in the United States, represents nearly 3 million members across the country.
